Kickboxing Class

This class is taught by:

Sarah Carter

- I began Farrell's in the spring of 2013 and I was blown away with my results. This program has taught me how to persevere through challenges both in and out of the gym and accomplish feats I never thought I could.

Chad Ross

I’ve been a FXB member since March 2010. I am a dad, uncle, son and husband. I instruct kickboxing and strength training and have recently become the head coach/manager/co-owner.  My favorite kickboxing combo is jab-cross-kick. Favorite music is country and favorite song is Made of Scars. I enjoy coaching my son in youth sports, go karts and hanging out with neighbors. Thanks to Farrell’s for being my exercise, social hour, sport and change to help others achieve their goals.

Jamie Frits

- I started Farrell’s in 2009 after graduating from college and entering the work field. Farrell’s changed my life with the friendships I have gained, lives I have helped change and self-esteem I personally have gained. For myself Farrell’s has kept me in the shape that I need to be in for my tactical team, defensive tactics and police reserves. I couldn't be more blessed to be a part of something so great. Live life at level 10 and never forget the burpees.

Joe Criger

I joined the 10-week session in 2012. I became a FIT member after and for years I would take the winter off and get back into things in the spring. It wasn't until 2015 that I realized I missed being "FIT" year round. FXB has not only improved my strength and endurance but has also improved my self-esteem, energy, and overall happiness. I am in better shape at age 34 than I have ever been. My mile time this year was faster than it was at age 17.

Shawna Johnson-Miers

I have been with Farrell's since January 2010 and I started teaching after finishing my 10 weeks. I'm married with two children and I practice law when I am not in the gym. I enjoy teaching and coaching and just being a part of our Southside gym family; the dynamics and energy can't be beat!

Tanya Ogden

I chose to become an instructor at Farrell's because I enjoy giving back to those who without knowing, give so much to me. I love the environment at Farrell's. Every day when I walk in, no matter what is going on in my life, I know I walk into a place of no judgement and total support. There's nothing better than being surrounded by positive, goal oriented people. I am a strong supporter of living life at level 10. I started as a nooner.... because nooners are the best! But, have begun to spread the love to the 8:30am class, where you'll find me instructing usually on Thursdays and Fridays. Fight for Failure!

Abigail Kingery

I started my Farrell's journey in January of 2016. Through Farrell's I have had the best full body workout experience; not only does it keep my body in shape, but I have had an amazing support system to help push me through. After my 10 week session I began coaching and instructing to encourage, motivate, and help others who are looking to hit that same level ten experience.

Lisa Irey

I wanted to do Farrell's since 2011. I researched the program and found
out all that I could, but I was scared. I finally decided to invest in
myself and commit to my health and I joined Farrell's in March 2014. I was hooked from day 1 - the environment is electric and the people are passionate. When you walk through the doors to the gym, YOU MATTER and you instantly have a family of folks there to push you!
Outside of the gym, I'm a technology ninja for Des Moines Public Schools
and I am a triathlete, all thanks to Farrell's, training hard in multiple
sports. Farrell's has given me the power to Live Life at Level 10 and I am grateful for the chance to help others.

Grant Pfeifer

- I started at Farrell's in 2015. My wife and I decided it was time to take care of ourselves again, but we needed a push to get there. Having been in team sports my whole life, I love that this isn't just going to the gym and nobody really cares if you are there or not. The instructors, coaches, and members care. I lost my father unexpectedly the day before Thanksgiving that first year. The next morning I came to the only class of the day because I didn't really know what else to do. I had no sleep and was a wreck. Some people found out through Social media what had happened. I had people I barely knew giving hugs. A member from my ten weeks jumped on the bag with me and said I'll get you through this. You go. I go. Another member found my address and brought homemade pies and soup to help my family have some shred of a "normal" holiday. I came to take care of myself and I stay to try and help others because they were there to help take care of me.

Kelly Kraska

- I am a happily married mom with two kids Abby & Drew. I am one of the crazy 4:15 am instructors. I joined Farrell's in January 2015 because I was harassed by my family to come and try it out. I just had my youngest son so I was very scared about joining and didn't think I could do it. I jumped right in and have never looked back. I am ever so grateful for my family, because Farrell's is like a second home to me and I am happy to have found such a wonderful team to be a part of.

Kay Musal

I joined Farrell's in April of 2005 and currently instruct at 2 locations. My husband, Rich and I have 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren. Farrell's has taught me how to live a healthy lifestyle. Also, it has given me the opportunity to meet and workout with incredible people who challenge me and motivate me each day.
This is a cardio kickboxing class.
